We have teamed up with Southampton YMCA to run exciting new workshops for young people of the City. Eight to sixteen year olds from a broad mix of cultural backgrounds can take part in free music workshops and learn about ethnic music and western beats. Sponsored by Youth Music, participants get to sample a range of instruments and learn to play as a group in a fun and lively environment. The workshops are open for beginners and the more experienced. At the end of the 12 week course the group will have a chance to perform as a professional band at a central Southampton venue. If you are under sixteen, interested in learning about other cultures, enjoy music and are looking to make new friends why not book a place? Workshops run on Thursdays and Sundays from 6pm to 8pm starting from 24th November.
